101.1 Title. These regulations shall be known as the building code of the village of Wadsworth, Illinois, hereinafter referred to as "this code."

Section 112.1. General. In order to hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by the building official related to the application and interpretation of this code, there shall be and is hereby created a board of appeals. The board of appeals shall consist of the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Wadsworth. The board of appeals shall operate under the rules of procedure adopted by the Corporate Authorities for meetings of the Village Board of Trustees. The chairman of the board of appeals shall be the president of the Village of Wadsworth.
Section 112.2 Limitations on Authority. An application for appeal shall be based on a claim that the true intent of this code or the rules legally adopted thereunder have been incorrectly interpreted, the provisions of this code do not fully apply or an equally good or better form of construction is proposed. The board of appeals shall have no authority to waive requirements of this code. In granting any appeal, the board of appeals shall prescribe any conditions that it deems to be necessary or desirable. The board of appeals shall affirm, modify, or reverse the decision of the building official by a majority vote.
112.3 Qualifications. The board of appeals shall consist of the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Wadsworth.

1612.3 Establishment Of Flood Hazard Areas. To establish flood hazard areas, the governing body shall adopt a flood hazard map and supporting data. The flood hazard map shall include, at a minimum, areas of special flood hazard as identified by the federal emergency management agency in an engineering report entitled "flood insurance study, volumes 1 through 3 of 3, Lake County, Illinois and incorporated areas", dated November 16, 2006, as amended or revised with the accompanying flood insurance rate map (FIRM) and the flood boundary and floodway map (FBFM) and related supporting data along with any revisions thereto. The adopted flood hazard map and supporting data are hereby adopted by reference and declared to be part of this section. Further, appendix B - SMC regulatory floodplain maps and profiles from the Lake Country watershed development ordinance effective January 10, 2006 as amended or revised is hereby adopted by reference as part of the provisions of this code.
3410.2 Applicability. Structures existing prior to 10/1/2007, in which there is work involving additions, alterations or changes of occupancy shall be made to conform to the requirements of this section or the provisions of sections 3403 through 3407. The provisions in sections 3410.2.1 through 3410.2.5 shall apply to existing occupancies that will continue to be, or are proposed to be, in groups A, B, E, F, M, R, S and U. These provisions shall not apply to buildings with occupancies in group H or I.
