A permit may be obtained from the village board for a supervised public display of fireworks subject to the following:
A. Every such display shall be handled by a competent individual who has sufficient expertise and which display is so located, discharged or fired, as not to be hazardous to property or endanger any person or persons.
B. Application for permits shall be made in writing at least thirty (30) days in advance of the date of the display and action shall be taken on such application by the village board at the next board meeting occurring after the permit application is filed with the village clerk.
C. After such permit shall have been granted, the possession and use of fireworks for such display shall be lawful for that purpose only. No permit granted hereunder shall be transferable. The permit shall be subject to such conditions as the village board deems fit.
D. The permittee shall file with the village clerk a bond in acceptable form in the amount not less than ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) conditioned on compliance with the provisions of this chapter, state law, and the regulations of the State Fire Marshall.
E. Such permit shall be issued only after inspection of the display site by the code compliance officer to determine that such display shall not be hazardous to property or endanger any person or persons. (Ord. 2000-567, 11-21-2000)
