5-1-2: DISCHARGE PROHIBITED/HUNTING:
It is unlawful to discharge a firearm or hunt within nine hundred feet (900') of an inhabited dwelling without first obtaining written permission of the owner or tenant of the dwelling. The discharge of a firearm or hunting on public land or properties owned by utility companies is not permitted. The discharge of a firearm or hunting activities can only take place on properties within the AG agriculture and SR suburban residential zoning district that are at least ten (10) acres in size which are owned by a single owner or on contiguous properties that are held in common ownership by a single owner. Rifles, handguns or slugs may not be used for hunting activities; rifles or slugs may not be used during skeet shooting, target practice or other type of shooting activity. Projectiles (bullets, arrows, etc.) may not encroach, travel over or land on adjacent properties, roadways or rights of way. Everyone present during all hunting activities shall follow and conduct their activities in accordance with all state of Illinois department of natural resources guidelines.
