(A) Traffic. It is unlawful to drive a vehicle over a fire hose, except at the direction or command of a police officer or member of the Fire Department. Upon the approach of any Fire Department vehicle giving signal by bell, siren, horn or flashing lights, the driver of every other non-emergency vehicle shall immediately drive the same to a position as near as possible and parallel to the right-hand edge or curb of the street, clear of any intersection, and shall stop and remain in the position unless otherwise directed by a police officer or member of the Fire Department and until the Fire Department vehicles have passed. It shall be unlawful for the driver of any non-emergency vehicle to follow closer than 300 feet of any fire apparatus traveling in response to a fire alarm. It is unlawful to drive into or park the vehicle within the block in which the fire apparatus is stopped in answer to a fire alarm, unless permitted to do so by a police officer or member of the Fire Department.
(B) Spectators at fire. The officer of the Fire Department in command at the scene of any fire or other emergency may establish a zone of danger, within which no person, except members of the Fire Department or Police Department shall enter, unless directed or permitted to do so by the member in command. No person may enter upon the premises which is the scene of a fire or alarm of fire, or other emergency, unless and until directed or permitted to do so by the member of the Fire Department in command of the fire.
(C) Utilizing citizens to assist Fire Department. The officer of the Fire Department in command at the scene of any fire or other emergency shall have the authority to utilize any citizen in assisting in protecting life and property, when, in his or her judgment, an emergency dictates the necessity of the assistance.
