For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
ASHES. The residue from combustion of any type of solid fuel, such as wood, coal, coke, charcoal, paper or any similar substance.
BULK. All items of trash, debris or discarded household items not falling within the definition of GARBAGE or RECYCLABLES, which shall not fit in the trash cart assigned to the resident. BULK items shall also include WHITE GOODS as defined herein.
GARDEN REFUSE. Small branches of trees, under three inches in diameter; hedge, bush and vine trimmings; stalks of vegetables and plants, grasses, weeds and similar substances or materials found in residential yards; but not leaves in bulk, tree roots, tree trunks or portions thereof, or large tree branches.
OCCUPANT. the owner, agent, tenant, lessee, caretaker or any other person in charge of any premises affected by this chapter, whichever classification may be appropriate and effective for its enforcement.
TRASH and RUBBISH. All miscellaneous materials such as rags, leather goods, cartons, rubber, broken glass, crockery or any similar materials or substances, but not concrete, firewood, sod, logs, earth, sand, bricks, mortar, railroad ties or other substances which may accumulate from building or demolition operations.
TREE TRIMMING. Limbs and branches not exceeding five inches in diameter and at least four feet in length, that have accumulated because of storm damage and/or routine maintenance, but not as a result of tree removal or lot clearing activities.
WHITE GOODS. Household appliances, including, but not limited to, hot water heaters, washers, dryers, ranges and refrigerators with doors removed. WHITE GOODS shall not mean hot water
heaters, washers, dryers, ranges and refrigerators generated by a commercial vendor.
