A. Office Created; Appointment; Bond: There is hereby created the office of water collector of the city. Said officer shall be appointed by the mayor, by and with the advice and consent of the city council, and shall be required to give bond in sufficient amount as approved by the city council.
B. Duties: The water collector shall:
1. Make out all bills for water from the readings of meters furnished by the public works director;
2. Collect all monies due to the city for water rent or charges and shall pay over the same to the city treasurer once each month, taking the treasurer's receipt therefor;
3. Keep an accurate and complete set of books of accounts, showing the names and addresses of each water user, the amount of water used by each, the rate charged for such water, and showing all monies paid to him from whatever source; (Ord., 2004)
4. Render an account in writing to the city council at their monthly meeting; and (Ord., 2004; amd. 2009 Code)
5. Report the amount of delinquent bills he holds for collection.
C. Accounts, Books And Records: All accounts, books and records of the water collector are to be supplied by the public works director and are to remain the property of the city. (Ord., 2004)
