11-2-1: METHOD OF PARKING:
   A.   Parallel Parking: Vehicles shall be parked parallel to the curb as provided herein and shall be placed so that neither right wheel, or the left wheel when in the far left lane of a one-way street, shall be further than eighteen inches (18") from the curb and not nearer than four feet (4') to either end of any other standing vehicle. This subsection shall not apply to parking on the public square as provided by resolution of the city council. (1925 Code § 35-9; amd. 2009 Code)
   B.   Angle Parking In Residence Districts: There shall be no angle parking on any of the streets in the residence portion of the city, and no parking space shall be marked off in any part of the residence portion of the city. (1925 Code § 35-10)
   C.   Parking In Marked Spaces: The city council may, by resolution duly passed by a majority vote of the council at any regular or special meeting called for that purpose, designate portions of streets in the city as parking spaces and mark off said parking space by appropriate markers, either for parallel or angle parking, and when any such parking space has been designated, it shall be unlawful for any person to park except upon the space thus marked off.
