8-2-3: LOCAL LIQUOR CONTROL COMMISSIONER:
The mayor shall be the local liquor control commissioner and is charged with the administration of this chapter relating to the sale of alcoholic liquors within the limits of the city. The mayor may appoint any suitable person or persons to assist him in the exercise of the powers and the performance of the duties provided by the laws of the state or the ordinances of the city for the control and regulation of the sale of alcoholic liquors, and he shall have the following powers:
   A.   To grant and revoke for cause all local licenses issued to persons for premises within his jurisdiction.
   B.   To enter or to authorize any law enforcing officer to enter at any time upon any premises licensed hereunder to determine whether any of the provisions of this chapter, or of an act entitled an act relating to alcoholic liquors, approved January 31, 1934 1 , have been or are being violated, and at such time, to examine said premises of said licensee in connection therewith.
   C.   To receive complaint from any citizen within his jurisdiction that any provision of state law or of this chapter has been or is being violated, and to act upon such complaints in the manner provided by the liquor control act of Illinois.
   D.   To receive local license fees and pay the same forthwith to the city treasurer. (Ord., 2-21-1934)
