The City of Vincennes, Indiana recognizes the importance of eliminating conflict of interest in the conduct of city business. Conflict of interest is not only against state and Federal regulations, but it is detrimental to the city's good reputation and the public's confidence in their city government. The City of Vincennes, Indiana also recognizes the value of collaboration that occurs at special functions such as conferences, dinners, and golf outings in which city officials may be guests of one or more vendors that do business with the city. The City of Vincennes, Indiana, in desiring to fulfill both the letter and spirit of these regulations, and in accordance with Title 23, Chapter 1, Subchapter B, Part 172.7, Section 4(iii), therefore establishes the dollar value threshold of $100 below which any financial interest or value of any gratuity is not substantial and may be accepted per this policy.
