No person shall erect or maintain or cause to be erected or maintained any shed, shade, awning or sign on or across any sidewalk within the city with the lowest part thereof less than 7½ feet over that sidewalk, or shall fail to keep that shed, shade, awning or sign safely and securely fixed and supported so as to prevent to travelers.
