Permits for electrical work will be issued to licensed electricians only, except for single-family dwellings occupied by the owner, where permits will be issued to the owner provided he is doing his own electrical work and not employing others to install wiring and plans to live in the dwelling for more than one year. Plans showing electrical layout giving wire sizes shall be submitted prior to the request for issuance of the electrical permits. Electricians taking out permits shall file proof of insurance conforming to the Indiana State requirements.
