§ 37.098  PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT PLANS.
   (A)   If the Mayor believes that an employee of the city is not performing consistent with the efficient performance of city business or needs improvement in some areas of service to the community, the Mayor may institute a performance improvement plan. These performance improvement plans shall include specific goals for improvement and shall provide a specific time period within which improvement is expected. Additional evaluations may be completed during the course of the performance improvement plan. Failure to meet the goals of the performance improvement plan may result in a reduction in duties, hours and/or pay. Failure to meet the goals established may also result in termination of employment.
   (B)   Terminations for poor performance under this section are not considered disciplinary action and do not grant any of the hearing rights provided in § 37.097 for employees appealing disciplinary actions.
