Any person who shall either intentionally, wilfully, negligently or accidentally injure or damage any water meters, water mains and pipes, sewer mains and pipes, fire hydrants, pavements, curbs, gutters, manholes, sidewalks, trees, automotive equipment, buildings, or any other city property of any kind or description shall immediately notify the Director of Public Works of the time, place, nature and extent of the damage. In the event the Superintendent is unavailable at the time the notification is required, then the person so damaging the property shall immediately notify the Police Department of the damage.
