§ 34.04  FIRE CHIEF; SELECTION; DUTIES.
   (A)   The Fire Chief shall be selected in the manner prescribed by the Department’s bylaws.  He or she shall take the oath of office and execute a bond the same as other appointed officers of the city, as provided by Chapter 31 of this Code.  He or she shall be the commanding officer of the Fire Department and all the members thereof, subject only to the orders of the Mayor, and also the orders of the City Council, when in session, and shall have charge of all the fire apparatus of the city.
   (B)   The Fire Chief shall investigate, or cause to be investigated, the cause of all fires occurring within the city.
