§ 33.04  MEMBERS OF POLICE DEPARTMENT; DUTIES.
   The members of the Police Department when on duty shall devote their time and attention to the discharge of the duties of their office according to the provisions of the ordinances of the city and rules and regulations of the Police Department.  They shall, to the best of their ability, preserve order, quiet, and peace throughout the city, and enforce the provisions of this Code, of the ordinances of the city, of the ordinances of the county, of the state statutes and of the laws of the United States.  When it shall come to the knowledge of any police officer that any provision of the ordinances and laws have been violated, the police officer shall immediately cause a complaint to be made before a court and the proper witnesses to be subpoenaed and evidence procured for the successful prosecution of the offender.  All police officers shall render prompt and efficient aid to each other in the discharge of their duties.
