The next general election of officers shall be held in November, 2008 and shall be held on the day scheduled for the general election of State Officers. Candidates elected at said election shall take office on July 1, 2009 and the terms for such elected officers shall end at midnight on December 31, 2012. The term of all current officers shall end at midnight on June 30, 2009. All general elections after 2008 shall be held every four years beginning 2012 and shall be held in November on the day scheduled for the general election of State Officers. Terms for officers elected in 2012 and all subsequent elections shall be for four years and shall begin on January 1st in the year immediately following their election and shall end on December 31st four years thereafter.
The next primary election shall be held in May 2008 and shall be held on the day scheduled for the primary election of State Officers. All primary elections after 2008 shall be held every four years beginning 2012 and shall be held in May on the day scheduled for the primary election of State Officers.
