(a) The Mayor is authorized to employ Assistant Animal Officers who shall have and exercise all of the power and authority to the Animal Officer.
(b) The base compensation of the Primary Assistant Animal Officer shall not exceed six hundred dollars ($600.00) per month, without consent of Council.
(c) In addition to such compensation, the Primary Assistant Animal Officer shall be entitled to reimbursement for costs expended in the performance of his/her duties as well as payment of $30.00 (thirty dollars) per animal call out during non-work hours, weekends (Saturday and Sunday), and holidays. For the purposes of this ordinance, non-work hours are those hours falling between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., as well as all of Saturday and Sunday.
(d) The Secondary Assistant Animal Officers shall be paid $30.00 (thirty dollars) per animal call out during normal non-work hours, weekends (Saturday and Sunday), and holidays.
(e) In no event shall the total call out pay exceed $1,500 per year.
