151.05 SPECIAL LEAVES.
   (a)   Jury Duty. Employees required to serve on a jury before a court empowered by law to require such service shall be excused from work for the time required for such service and shall be paid the regular rate less jury pay, provided the department head has been notified not less than three days prior to such jury service date.
   (b)   Funeral Leave.
      (1)   Employees shall be granted three days’ leave with pay to attend the funeral of a member of the immediate family, and one day for the funeral of a relative not a member of the immediate family, with approval of the department head. If the leave period includes a weekend, holiday or scheduled days off, those days shall be included in the total days funeral leave to which the employee is entitled.
      (2)   “Immediate family” means spouse, parent, child, brother, sister, employee’s grandparent and employee’s mother-in-law and father-in-law.
      (3)   “Relative not a member of the immediate family” means an employee’s son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-law.
   (c)   Exceptional Circumstances. Department heads, at their discretion, shall have authority to grant one day’s leave with pay for exceptional circumstances which, in the sole opinion of the Department head, justifies such leave, provided that such leave during any calendar year shall not exceed one day per employee.
