§ 93.35 KEEPING LOTS CLEAR OF WEEDS AND DEBRIS.
   (A) It shall be the duty of the owners or occupants of all lots within the city to keep one-half of the adjoining street or alley, including the pavement or sidewalks, in the front, rear, or side of the property owned or occupied by them, either as a residence or used for any other purpose, clean and clear of all weeds and excessive growth of grass.

   (B) It shall be the duty of the owners of vacant lots to keep the weeds and grass cut close to the ground on the lot; also to keep the pavement, sidewalk, or street in front of or abutting on the lot clean and clear of all weeds and excessive growth of grass.

   (C) It shall be the duty of the owners or occupants of all lots within the city whether occupied or vacant to keep those lots in a safe, clear, and sanitary condition and free of trash, rubbish, or junk which would be unsightly or would constitute a hazard to health or safety and to keep said lots clean and clear of all weeds and excessive growth of grass.

   (D)   For purposes of this section, “EXCESSIVE GROWTH OF GRASS” means grass, other than ornamental or decorative grasses, at a height of more than ten (10) inches, unless the lot is more than one (1) acre in size, being utilized for agricultural purposes, and no subdivision plat has been filed of record reflecting the property as residential. Areas designated for stormwater detention should be kept at a height of less than five (5) inches.
