(A) The City of Vermillion, South Dakota hereby establishes the Vermillion Human Relations Commission.
(B) The purpose of the Commission is to:
(1) Promote human and civil rights for all citizens and visitors of the city, disseminate information, conduct public meetings, and engage and cooperate with persons in groups interested in similar objectives; and
(2) Receive and address complaints alleging any discriminatory or unfair practices based on sex, race, color, creed, religion, ancestry, disability, familial status, or national origin, with respect to employment, labor union membership, housing accommodations, property rights, education, public services, or public accommodations with such investigation and inquiry as may reasonably appear necessary.
