§ 32.35 DUTIES.
   In addition to the duties stated elsewhere in this subchapter, the Commission may take actions necessary and appropriate in order to accomplish the purposes of this subchapter. These actions may include, but are not limited to, the following:
   (A)   To maintain a system for surveying, and conduct surveys of, historic properties within the city;
   (B)   To maintain an inventory of officially designated historic properties within the city;
   (C)   To cooperate with the federal and state governments in the pursuance of the objectives of historic preservation;
   (D)   To promote and conduct educational, interpretive, and open meetings and workshops on historic preservation and historic properties within the city;
   (E)   To provide information for the purposes of historic preservation to the City Council or city staff as requested;
   (F)   To notify the Director of Equalization of the designation of any historic property by the U.S. Department of the Interior;
   (G)   To identify potential new historic sites for possible nomination to the National Register;
   (H)   To provide information and a review as requested by the city prior to the issuance of a permit for demolition, moving, exterior alteration, remodel or other permitted work on a property within a historic district or officially designated historic site. Information and review will be provided within 5 business days whether through a Commission meeting, review by designated member, or other method designated by the Commission;
   (I)   To educate owners of historic property, buildings, and structures in historic districts in preserving their buildings;
   (J)   To assist the State Historic Preservation Office in the review of projects as requested;
   (K)   To attend informational and educational programs beneficial for the Commission and current developments in historic preservation; and
   (L)   The Commission shall promptly prepare comments on matters that will affect property on the National Register of Historic Places, property on the State Register of Historic Places, and property within historic districts that has been designated by the Secretary of the Interior, so that its comments will be received by the city in a timely manner for its use.
