The Building Official shall make the rules and regulations in furtherance of the purposes of this code and not inconsistent with the specific provisions of this code, for the installation, repair, or alteration of air-conditioning systems, water-treatment equipment, and water-operated devices as may be deemed necessary to properly protect the water supply system.
