§ 150.07 NUMBERING OF BUILDINGS.
   (A)   Duty. It is hereby made the duty of every person owning or occupying any house or other building, now in existence or which may be hereafter constructed in the city, fronting or abutting upon any street or avenue therein, to place or affix upon the door or the front of the building in plain, painted, printed, or metallic numerals of not less than 3 inches in height the proper number assigned to the house or other building, as hereinafter provided, and thereafter keep or maintain the number so placed or affixed so that the same will at all times be visible and legible by persons in the street immediately in front of the house or building.
   (B)   Numbering north and south streets.
      (1)   The numbers assigned to north and south streets shall commence from Main Street. The first block from Main Street shall contain numbers from 1 to 99; the second block from Main Street will contain numbers in the 100 series; the third block in the 200 series; and each succeeding block will increase in multiples of 100. From Main Street running north, numbers shall begin at the south end of each block and every 22 to 25 feet shall receive a new number with even numbers on the west side and odd numbers on the east side of each street.
      (2)   From Main Street running south, the numbers shall begin at the north end of each block and every 22 to 25 feet shall receive a new number with even numbers on the east side and odd numbers on the west side of each street. Numbers north or south of Main Street are designated by adding the designation of north or south to each number as the case may be.
   (C)   Numbering east and west streets.
      (1)   The numbers assigned to east and west streets shall commence from Court Street, Center Street, and Cottage Avenue, as the case may be. The first block from Court Street, Center Street, or Cottage Avenue shall contain numbers from 1 to 99; the second block shall contain numbers in the 100 series; the third block shall contain numbers in the 200 series; and each succeeding block will increase in multiples of 100.
      (2)   From Court Street, Center Street, or Cottage Avenue running west the numbers shall begin at the east end of each block and every 25 feet shall receive a new number with odd numbers on the north side and even numbers on the south side.
      (3)   From Court Street, Center Street, or Cottage Avenue running east, the numbers shall begin at the west end of each block and every 25 feet shall receive a new number with even numbers on the north side and odd numbers on the south side of each street. Numbers west or east of Court Street, Center Street, or Cottage Avenue are designated by the adding of the designation west or east to each number as the case may be.
   (D)   City Engineer to determine correct number. The correct number of any house or building shall be determined by the City Engineer. In case any house or building is incorrectly numbered, the City Engineer may order the owner or occupant thereof to correctly number the same and it shall be unlawful for the owner or occupant to refuse to comply with the order. The building address number of any structure and the number of each individual apartment or suite in any structure hereafter erected shall be determined by the City Engineer, according to approved policies, and shall be indicated on the building permit.
