The parking meters shall be operated in the parking meter zone every day from Monday through Friday inclusive, between the hours of 8:00 a.m., and 5:00 p.m., with the exception of holidays and other days designated by the governing body by resolution. The Chief of Police is hereby authorized and directed to suspend the operation of parking restrictions and the requirements for payment of fees for parking privileges provided for in this subchapter in the part of the parking meter zone as he or she shall deem desirable and convenient.
