1464.02 REQUIREMENTS FOR NUMERALS.
   (a)   All numerals used on a house or building to indicate the number of the house or building shall be not less than three inches high. All numerals used on a rural or postal mailbox to indicate the number of the house or building shall be not less than one and one-eighth inches high. All numerals shall be of a durable material or painted, and shall be kept bright and conspicuous.
 
   (b)   Arabic numerals reflecting the street address of business and residential property shall be visible from the adjoining street and shall be conspicuously displayed on:
(1)   The main structure, if one exists; or
(2)   A major visible appurtenance thereto; and
(3)   The mailbox, if one adjoins the roadway.
   The purpose of such requirement is to ensure prompt, accurate and effective medical, police and fire response in emergency circumstances.
