1444.10 SUSPENSION OR REVOCATION OF REGISTRATION.
   (a)   The Building Official and/or Building Inspector may suspend, revoke, or deny renewal of any certificate of registration and qualification issued hereunder for any of the following reasons:
      (1)   Misrepresentation of a material fact by the applicant in obtaining a certificate of registration and qualification.
      (2)   Use of a certificate of registration and qualification in obtaining permits for another.
      (3)   Faulty or defective workmanship.
      (4)   Departure from or disregard of plans and specifications filed with the application for a permit.
      (5)   The noncompliance with or violation of any provision or regulation of the Building Code or any other building code incorporated therein by reference, or the Zoning Code of the City or any other rule or regulation promulgated thereunder.
      (6)   A contractor whether a general contractor or subcontractor, permitting his or her name or registration to be used by another owner, contractor, or agent. Any contractor found guilty of violating this prohibition shall, subject to appeal, immediately forfeit his or her registration for a period of one year, without refund of any registration fees.
      (7)   Failure to secure permits, inspections, and approvals required by the building code, zoning code and any other regulation of the City and the Building Department.
      (8)   Failure or refusal to correct a violation of the building code, zoning code or any other regulation of the City or Building Department within a prescribed period as ordered by the Building Department.
      (9)   A willful failure to carry and maintain the required liability insurance.
      (10)   Unethical business practice or any other valid reason adversely affecting the health, safety, and welfare of the residents of the City of Vermilion.
 
   (b)   Any order of the Building Official and/or Building Inspector suspending, revoking, or denying a contractor's registration and qualification certificate shall be in writing and effective upon being served to the contractor in person or by certified U.S. mail. Any such notice shall contain the contractor's right-to-appeal the order to the Service Director. A copy of the suspension, revocation, or denial shall become a permanent part of the contractor's record.
 
   (c)   Any contractor whose registration and qualification certificate are suspended, revoked, or denied, and in the case of an appeal is upheld by the Service Director, shall not be issued another registration before the expiration of the suspension period or within the two years from the date of revocation.
