Should any work done by any person under the provisions of this chapter be found to be defective at any time during the guarantee period, such work shall be remedied or removed or replaced by the person. Upon failure of such person to comply forthwith with any order of the Director of Public Service made under the provisions of this section, the City may, at the expense of such person or his bondsman, cause such defective work to be remedied or removed and replaced.
