634.03 CONFORMITY WITH SOUND PRESSURE LEVEL STANDARDS; EXEMPTIONS.
   (a)   Any production, processing, cleaning, testing, repairing, moving or storing of materials, goods or products, sound amplification systems, motor vehicles or sound emanating from other activities within the City shall be so operated as to conform with the sound pressure level standards set forth in this chapter. Sound created by construction or building repair of any premises is exempt from the application of this chapter during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.. Sirens, whistles, bells, etc., which are maintained and utilized solely to serve a public purpose, such as fire, ambulance, police, air raid or tornado warning sirens, church bells or chimes, are exempt from the application of this chapter.

   (b)   Whoever fails to comply with this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree. A separate offense shall be deemed committed each day during or on which a noncompliance occurs or continues. The penalty shall be as provided in Section 698.02.
