618.07 UNREASONABLY NOISY DOGS.
   (a)   No person shall permit a dog which he or she harbors to be unreasonably noisy.
   (b)   A dog shall be deemed to be “unreasonably noisy” if, except in response to provocation, as hereinafter defined:
      (1)   Such dog barks, howls or yelps, or produces any combination of the foregoing sounds:
         A.   For a total of more than five (5) minutes in any twenty (20) minute period; or
      (2)   Such barking, howling or yelping is audible by a person of normal hearing at a distance of at least one hundred (100) feet from the perimeter of the property on which such dog is present.
   (c)   As used herein, a dog shall be deemed to be responding to provocation if it barks, howls or yelps in response to the trespass by any person onto the property on which such dog is harbored.
   (d)   A person shall be deemed to harbor a dog if he or she allows such dog to remain or be lodged or fed within any dwelling, building, yard or enclosure that such person occupies or owns.
   (e)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor and shall be subject to the penalty provided in Section 698.02.
