(a) The Mayor is hereby granted and delegated the authority to promulgate and enforce reasonable rules and regulations governing the movement of watercraft within the Vermilion Harbor and the Vermilion River and its lagoons and estuaries and governing the use of harbor facilities, particularly the public pump-out station, the public boat-launching ramp and the public docking areas. Such rules so established shall be conveyed by the Mayor to the Police Chief and the Harbormaster and shall be displayed conspicuously along the Vermilion River and the harbor and any of the facilities therein. All persons shall comply with such rules and regulations and the same shall be enforced by the Harbormaster along with other duly authorized members of the Department of Public Safety who have been designated to serve upon the Marine Patrol. No person shall fail to obey such rules and regulations.
(b) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree. Punishment shall be as provided in Section 408.01.
