The Board of Aldermen may, from time to time, amend the terms of this chapter, but no amendment shall become effective unless it shall have been submitted to the Planning Board for review and recommendation, or proposed by the Planning Board. The Planning Board shall have 30 days within which to submit a report. If no report is submitted within the specified time, it shall be deemed to have approved the amendment. The Board of Aldermen may adopt the proposed amendment following a public hearing on the proposed amendment. All such amendments shall be adopted by ordinance. Public hearing notice shall be provided in accordance with G.S. § 160D-601.
