§ 152.002 PURPOSE.
   (A)   The purpose of this chapter is to establish procedures and standards for the development and subdivision of land within the territorial jurisdiction of the town.
   (B)   It is further designed to provide for: orderly growth and development of the town; coordination of streets and highways within proposed subdivisions with existing or planned streets and highways and with other public facilities such as water, sewer, and storm drainage lines; dedication or reservation of recreation areas serving residents of the immediate neighboring within the subdivision and of rights-of-way or easements for street and utility purposes; and distribution of population and traffic in a manner that will avoid congestion and overcrowding and will create conditions essential to public health, safety, and general welfare.
   (C)   This chapter is designed to further facilitate adequate provision for water, sewerage, sanitary or storm drainage, parks, schools, and playgrounds, and also facilitate the further re-subdivision of larger tracts into smaller parcels of land, that is to be offered to the town for dedication.
