It is hereby designated to be the policy of the city to do all things necessary and proper to secure for all its citizens their right to equal housing opportunities regardless of their race, color creed, sex, marital status, religious belief, national origin, age, familial status, and handicap. This is the same policy adopted by the Commissioners of the County of Van Wert on January 16, 1990, and revised on December 29, 1992. It can be found in County Journal #43, on page 334. The city will work in full cooperation with the Van Wert County Fair Housing Commission, the County Commissioners, and the County Prosecuting Attorney to insure that the goals of this policy are carried out in the city.
