(A) The Personnel Policy and Procedure Manual governs the sick leave policy.
(B) Each employee who has accumulated 1,000+ hours of accrued but unused sick leave on his date of retirement, retires after 10 or more years of service with the city and gives 1 year or more written notice of retirement shall receive payment for 500 hours of accrued but unused sick leave.
(C) Those employees who fail to provide the 1 year written notice or have accrued less than 1,000 hours of unused sick leave on his date of retirement will be paid for 25% of the value of the employee’s accrued but unused sick leave, up to a maximum payment of 240 hours.
(D) All payments for qualifying payout settlement items (vacation, sick leave upon retirement, personal days, comp time, holidays earned, etc.) shall be based on the employee’s base pay at the time of resignation, termination or retirement.
