(A) The Department and the Office of the Director of Public Safety and the Department and the Office of the Director of Public Service are combined.
(B) (1) One director, to be known as the Director of Public Safety and Service or the Safety-Service Director, shall be appointed by the Mayor for the merged department.
(2) The Director shall be an elector of the city, however, the Council hereby extends the time for the Director to become an elector to December 31, 2001.
(C) The Safety-Service Director is hereby appointed to serve as the Fair Housing Coordinator, Section 504 and American Disabilities Act Coordinator and Director of Equal Employment Opportunity for the city.
