(A) The Auditor shall perform the statutory duties of the office and other duties as directed by Council on a regular basis during the regular business hours of the Van Wert Municipal Building and during other hours as may be necessary and proper.
(B) The Auditor shall maintain regular office hours during the time that the Van Wert Municipal Building is open to the public unless the Auditor is engaged in Van Wert city business away from the Municipal Building.
(C) The Auditor shall have vacation time and sick leave as is necessary and reasonable.
(D) The salary of the Auditor shall be as set by Council.

(E) Before entering upon the duties of his or her office, the Auditor shall give bond in the sum set by Council.

(F) The Auditor shall appoint a full-time clerk-purchasing agent to aid him or her in the execution of his or her duties.
