For the purpose of fixing and determining house and building numbers, two base lines are hereby established, National Road (U. S. Route 40) running east and west and Dixie Drive, running north and south. All streets running east and west shall be numbered east and west from Dixie Drive; all streets running north and south shall be numbered north and south from National Road. The even numbers shall be used on the south side of all east and west streets and on the east side of all north and south streets. The odd numbers shall be used on the north side of all east and west streets and on the west side of all north and south streets. However, when a street curves ninety degrees or more, the numbering on such street shall be consecutive. The base for such numbering shall be that portion designated by Council, upon motion, carried by affirmative vote of a majority of members present at a regular meeting, irrespective of the numbers being on the side of the street as above indicated. The number 100 shall be allowed for each block, providing each existing entrance or doorway shall receive a number, and that number shall progress arithmetically. Plats shall be made of each street numbered and shall show the numbers given to each lot or parcel.
