444.12   SUSPENSION OF RIDING PRIVILEGES; IMPOUNDING OF BICYCLES.
   In addition to the penalties provided in Sections 408.01 and 408.02, a court may prohibit any person who violates or fails to comply with any of the provisions of this chapter relating to bicycles and/or motorized bicycles from riding a bicycle or motorized bicycle for a period not to exceed three months. In addition, any person violating or failing to comply with any of the provisions of this chapter relating to bicycles and/or motorized bicycles may be punished by having his or her bicycle or motorized bicycle seized and impounded by the Division of Police. Any bicycle or motorized bicycle so seized and impounded shall be held by the Division until the owner thereof, or, if the owner is a minor, the owner and such owner’ s parent or guardian, appear at the Division and give assurance that such violation shall not be repeated. The maximum period that such a bicycle or motorized bicycle may be impounded by the Division shall be 30 days.
