240.02   RESERVE POLICE UNIT.
   (a)   Establishment. There is hereby established within the Police Division a Reserve Police Unit.
   (b)      Authority of Chief of Police. The Reserve Police Unit shall be under the direct control of the Chief of Police, who shall make appointments and removals of auxiliary police officers, subject to regulations prescribed by the Chief.
   (c)   Members Excluded From Pension Fund. Members of the Reserve Police Unit shall not be eligible for membership in the Police Relief and Pension Fund and shall not be in the classified service of the City.
   (d)   Compensation. Reserve Police Unit members shall be paid one dollar ($1.00) per year for services rendered as such, together with such other benefits as Council shall from time to time establish by ordinance.
   (e)   Worker's Compensation; Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance. Members shall be included under the Worker's Compensation Insurance Plan of the City and shall be insured under the accidental death and dismemberment insurance policy in an amount not to exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000) during their membership in the Reserve Police Unit.
   (f)   Membership. Reserve Police Unit membership shall be limited to twenty and shall consist of those members who are presently on the roster of the Auxiliary Police Unit, heretofore in existence in the City, and such other members as may be appointed.
   (g)   Rules and Regulations Applicable to Members. Members shall be subject to all of the rules and regulations governing police officers of the City. A violation of any of the foregoing or of the rules and regulations prescribed by Council shall subject such member to dismissal or removal from the Reserve Police Unit. All of the provisions of Ohio R.C. 737.051 and 737.06 shall be effective in the conduct and operation of the Reserve Police Unit. (Ord. 76-33. Passed 12-20-76.)
