(a) There is hereby established a Division of Police, which shall be composed of a Police Chief and of such other officials and members as authorized by Council, who shall give bond and be paid in an amount authorized by Council. (Ord. 61-05. Passed 2-6-61.)
(b) There is allotted to the Division of Police an allowance for necessary uniforms and accessories, in order to enable the Division to be uniformly clothed and equipped, it being found necessary for the efficient administration of the Division that such uniformity be maintained. Allottment at the time of initial employment is as follows:

5 shirts - (3 summer and 2 winter) 2 shirts - (1 summer and 1 winter)
2 slacks 1 slacks or skirt
2 blouses 1 blouse
1 topcoat 1 topcoat
2 caps – (1 summer and 1 winter) 2 caps

(c) Replacement of uniforms and accessories shall only be made by the City upon demonstrated need and recommendation of the Chief of Police.
(d) All items of clothing, equipment and other accessories purchased out of the foregoing allotments shall remain the property of the City, and at the termination of the employment of any employee, all items purchased through such allotment shall be returned by such employee to the City, so that the same may be placed in order and retained for further use by the Police Division.
