220.07   ATTENDANCE POLICY FOR BOARD AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS.
   (a)   All persons appointed to a City established board or committee are expected to attend all meetings of such board or committee, unless absence is unavoidable and is excused by a majority vote of that board or committee.
   (b)   The secretary of each board or committee shall maintain an accurate record of the attendance of its members. Such record shall show, for each meeting, members present, members absent and members whose absence is excused. Such record, in addition to being noted in the minutes, shall be maintained as a separate attendance record which shall show a running total of meetings, attendance at meetings, absence at meetings and excused absence at meetings.
   (c)   Unacceptable attendance by a member shall be defined as an unexcused absence from three consecutive regular meetings or absence from more than fifty percent of the regular and special meetings held during any six-month period. The secretary of each board or committee shall notify the Clerk of Council at any time when the lack of attendance of a member of the board or committee reaches the defined unacceptable standard.
   (d)   Upon being notified that an appointee to a board or committee has an unacceptable attendance record, the Clerk of Council shall forward this information to Council which shall designate a member to contact the appointee requesting his or her resignation from that board or committee. Failing to receive such resignation, the Council shall act to formally remove that person from that board or committee. The vacancy therein created shall be filled in accordance with the ordinance requirements for filling of vacancies on boards or committees. (Res. 84-R-30. Passed 11-5-84. )
