(A) The purpose of this chapter is to protect the safety and welfare of the general public through the orderly assignment of structure addresses to facilitate the location of and access to individual dwellings and businesses by emergency response personnel.
(B) This chapter shall establish a uniform system of road naming and renaming along both public and private roadways to ensure road names are not phonetically or visually similar or duplicated. It also establishes a uniform system of addressing and numbering all houses and buildings while establishing a process for changing existing addresses and roadway names to improve emergency response to all parts of the county.
