Supervision of the county landfill(s) shall be the responsibility of a Landfill Supervisor. The Landfill Supervisor’s duties shall include but not be limited to operating the landfill according to the rules and regulations contained in the chapter, designing fill locations, monitoring loads of solid waste, controlling the speed and operation of vehicles at the facility and conducting the activities of the landfill in the interest of public health, safety and protection of the environment. The Supervisor shall see that all solid waste is covered daily with a 6-inch layer of compact earth. In addition to the Landfill Supervisor, additional personnel and equipment may be authorized for the operation of the landfill as may be determined by the County Commissioners.
