§ 111.99 PENALTY.
   (A)   Criminal. If any person shall violate any provision, rule or regulation of this chapter, he or she shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction punished as described by G.S. § 14-4. Each day that any person shall continue to do any act in violation of any such provision, rule or regulation shall be and constitute a distinct and separate offense.
   (B)   Civil. If any person or corporation shall engage in the business, trade or profession of masseur or masseuse or provide the service of such without obtaining the license herein required or without the direct supervision of a person so licensed shall also be subject to a civil penalty of $1,500, which shall be assessed by the Board of County Commissioners upon proof of this activity and may be uncovered, if not paid within 30 days after notice of assessment, by a civil action in a nature of debt as prescribed in G.S. § 153A-123.
