§ 94.014 REVIEW OF BUILDING PLANS AND CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY.
   (A)   Except as otherwise determine by the Fire Chief, the plans submitted to the Building Department in support of an application for a building permit to construct any building shall also be submitted to the Fire Department for review.
   (B)   When any plans are submitted under division (A) above, the Fire Chief shall cause a review of them and determine whether such plans conform to the rules and regulations of the State of Indiana Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission and the Valparaiso Fire Department Ordnance, listed in this chapter. The review process shall not be construed as an approval of any violation of the provisions of this chapter, of other ordinances of the city, or of rules and regulations of the State of Indiana Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission.
   (C)   Certificate of occupancy. A Certificate of Occupancy must be obtained from the Building Department. This certificate must be signed by both the Building Department and the Fire Department, after a final inspection of the building or structure is made. Issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy shall not be construed as an approval of any violation of the provisions of this code or of other ordinances of the city or of rules and regulations of the State of Indiana Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission.
