§ 32.03 CITY ATTORNEY.
   (A)   The head of the Department of Law is the City Attorney appointed by the Mayor. His or her compensation is fixed by the Common Council.
   (B)   The City Attorney or corporation counsel is assigned for following affairs of each department within the city government and the following duties:
      (1)   Management of the city’s law business and of the legal affairs of each department within the city government.
      (2)   Prosecution of all violations of city ordinances and/or this code:
      (3)   Service as legal advisor to all city departments;
      (4)   Preparation of all cases, ordinances, contracts and other legal papers for all departments;
      (5)   Handling of all city litigation;
      (6)   Making all title searches and examining all abstracts necessary to opening or improving streets or other public property;
      (7)   Employing of assistants within ordinance limits; and
      (8)   Instituting all proceedings necessary to protect the rights of the city or the public.
