For purposes of this subchapter the following definitions shall apply unless the text clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
(A) ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT, LEVEL I. The provision of an assessment by an advanced life support provider and/or the provision of one or more advanced life support interventions.
(B) ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT, LEVEL 2. The administration of at least three different medications and/or the provision of one or more of the following advanced life support procedures: manual defibrillation/cardioversion, endotracheal intubation, central venous line, external cardiac pacing, chest decompression, surgical airway or intraosseus line.
(C) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT. The provision of basic life support services as defined in the National LMS Education and Practices Blueprint for the EMT-Basic.
(D) NONRESIDENT. An individual who does not reside within the corporate boundaries of the City of Valparaiso and/or un-incorporated Center Township in Porter County at the time service is rendered or who does not pay property taxes for real estate located within the corporate boundaries of the City of Valparaiso and/or un-incorporated Center Township in Porter County which is owned by the individual at the time service is rendered.
(E) RESIDENT. An individual who resides within the corporate boundaries of the City of Valparaiso and/or un-incorporated Center Township in Porter County at the time the service is rendered, or an individual who pays property taxes for real estate located within the corporate boundaries of the City of Valparaiso and/or un-incorporated Center Township in Porter County which is owned by the individual at the time the service is rendered.
