No permit shall be granted by the Inspector of Buildings without the posting of a cash bond in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00) or the posting of a performance bond in the amount of five thousand dollars ($5,000), such performance bond to remain in effect for a period of one year, to secure the faithful performance of the obligations imposed by this chapter. The bond shall remain in full force and effect until released by the Inspector after inspection and approval of the work in accordance with the provisions of this chapter.
