247.01 RECREATION DIRECTOR.
   (a)   Establishment. The office of full-time Recreation Director is hereby established, effective January 1, 1998.
   (b)   Appointment and Term. The Recreation Director shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by Council. Such appointment shall be for a term determined by Council and, when appointed, shall serve until a successor is appointed and qualified.
   (c)   Duties.
      (1)   The duties of the Director shall be as follows:
         A.   Supervise and coordinate all sports programs such as baseball, soccer, basketball, bowling, etc., whatever the Recreation Board deems necessary.
         B.   Serve as liaison between the Recreation Board, Council and the Mayor.
         C.   Submit monthly written reports to Council concerning recreational programs and activities taking place.
         D.   Act as purchasing agent for the Recreation Department.
         E.   Schedule the use of the Community Center, parks and park pavilions for residents.
      (2)   Said position shall be full-time without overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of forty hours.
   (d)   Compensation and Benefits. The annual salary of the Recreation Director shall be as determined by Council from time to time and shall include all the benefits enjoyed by all other full-time employees.
   (e)   Physical Examination Required. The Director shall be required to pass a complete physical examination upon his or her appointment.
