Council may provide for the employment of a Village Engineer, who shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by Council for a term of two years and who shall serve until his successor is appointed and qualified. He shall render such engineering services to the Village as Council authorizes and requires and shall receive for his services such compensation by fees or otherwise as is provided by ordinance or resolution.
